      @katie_fenn Regardless of what you get make sure the drill has a hammer function as this is what is needed for brick The DeWalt cordless ones seem good all rounders. Make sure you have a set of masonry & wood drill bits for all the work you need 👍

    @katie_fenn Would also recommend buying a set of Rawl plugs as the ones you tend to get with "things" are normally a bit rubbish. When it comes to drilling, start off without the hammer as a) it might be soft wall and B) it makes a dent for your hammer drilling to start

      @katie_fenn Also make sure it's not a plasterboard wall (knock it, if it sounds hollow then investigate further as plasterboard won't hold curtain rails etc). If you have any questions, shout. I've spent 2 years in my first house learning lessons from the father-in-law!
